My Own

It's so interesting the first response that most people give us when we say we are adopting. 99.9% of the time we get "O, you can't have your own"? Our response, this will be our own! As far as having our own biologically, we have no clue! That's not our decision at this point. Before we got married we knew that we would adopt a child we just didn't know when or from where. It's been on my heart to adopt a child since I was 13 years old and I am finally able to do it. I have always wanted every child to have a family who loves them and cares for them and thought that I could save the world for all these children when I got older!ha. Obviously, I now know this is not possible. I saw a quote a few weeks ago that said "You can't save every child in the world, but you can save the world for one child."

Soon after we got married we changed churches and our new church had a huge number of families adopting which was kind of crazy (not reallly!) because we knew this was something we would do. It's crazy how things work out sometimes.

As usual, we decided to begin planning our times to have children and so on since we like to think we have control over all of this! Our plan, to have a biological child next year sometime. God's plan, to adopt a child this year! Guess who's plan we are doing! Sooner or later, we will learn not to waste our time planning out our lives.

We had no clue where we wanted to adopt from until one night we were google searching different adoption agencies and processes and Ukraine popped up. I read over the information and looked through the different familes who had done this and called Tyler in to the table and told him this was it! We prayed about it for a couple weeks and then decided it was time to begin.

I was reading another families blog who is adopting a child from Russia and doing several other amazing things that they fill called by God to do and on her blog she had this song posted. I wanted to post it to share with you all. It's scary how one song can speak so loudly to our hearts.
